We drove to Austin on Friday in order to attend the Austin Children’s Shelter’s annual Touch-A-Truck event at Camp Mabry.
Touch-A-Truck is a family friendly event that benefits SAFE programs on the Austin Children’s Shelter campus.
This event hosts a wide variety of vehicles for kids of all ages to play on while learning about the automobiles and how they help serve their communities. Since George is very interested in all things trucks, we knew this would be a great event for him to attend.
Naturally, he enjoyed climbing on the trucks and equipment and pretending to operate them. George says that his favorite trucks were “Mater” and the cement pumper truck.
We were thrilled to spend time with the Hunters and to provide cousin time for all of the kids.
I also enjoyed snuggling Emma and catching up with Nel and Zach.
The event also featured live music, food trucks, free food and drink options, and a Kid Zone complete with a petting zoo, face painting, barrel-train rides, a slide, art stations, and much more.
G really enjoyed the art stations and the train ride.
We enjoyed watching his face light up as he explored the trucks and laughed with his cousins.
We hope to attend this event again in the future — it is a great way to spend a morning.
Special thanks again to the Hunter for the fabulous VIP tickets.
