Downtown Lunch

I am officially on PTO until January 3rd and, more than anything, I am looking forward to spending this time with family and friends. Yesterday, George (who is out of school until January 3rd – Coincidence? No.) and I spent our first full day of the break together.

We had fun playing and baking in the morning before getting dressed and running to Rice Village so that G could get a haircut.

Afterwards, we made our way downtown to visit John in his office.

We don’t spend much time downtown as a family, so it’s ways a fun adventure when we do.

George was so exited to be there and was wowed by everything – the parking garage, the escalators, the tunnel, the elevators…

We brought some candy canes and G had fun passing them out to John’s coworkers. After a bit of visiting, we walked to Barnaby’s Midtown. To G’s delight, we sat outside to take in the construction and sights and sounds of the city.

The food was good, but the company was the best part.

Once we left downtown, we ran a few errands before nap time. Later, we had a cozy little night in.

I love the holidays and family time; and I am going to try to relish these next few weeks. I hope you and yours are taking some time off together too.
