We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont St. Andrews during our trip to Scotland. Here’s a quick review of the hotel…
Location – The hotel is located just outside of St. Andrews proper – about a 7-minute drive. The drive to the Edinburgh airport via car is about an hour and 15 minutes. If you’re looking for a quiet, idyllic hotel to vacation at in St. Andrews – this is it.
Customer Service – Service at the hotel was top-notch. We never wanted for anything and we were always treated warmly and graciously by staff. Everyone we encountered was helpful, accommodating, and very eager to assist. Additionally, everyone we met was very friendly and doted on George.
Accommodations – We booked the Kingdom of Fife Suite and it was a fabulous retreat.
Our room had two large bathrooms (one with an oversized-tub and the other with an oversized-shower), two large closets and dressing areas, a large bedroom, living room, dining room, fireplace, and the only balcony on the property.
Amenities – The hotel features turn-down service, a spa, library, two golf courses, a club house, two bars, and three high-end restaurants. During our stay, we dined at all three of the restaurants – each was exceptional. Room service was also exceptional. And the views? Well, you be the judge…
Family Friendly – This hotel is very family-friendly and I would recommend it to families traveling with kids of all ages. The hotel offers many baby items to its guests, free of charge, and has special programs and activities for older children. The hotel even set up a crib for George when they learned that we were traveling with a toddler.
Member Recognition – The hotel is part of the Fairmont family and despite having the lowest-tier member standing with them, we were recognized as valued members throughout our stay.
