Week Thirteen Remodel: October 26 – November 1

Progress: Our contractor returned from vacation (this week), so things were hopping again at Casa Contour.

The crew continues to lay tile upstairs, build drawers in George’s closet and to relocate plumbing in our kitchen and master suite.

We met with our architect on Tuesday to go over some cabinet samples and to clarify our needs for cabinetry in the house. We got an initial quote (a few weeks ago) from the cabinet company we have been working with, but the designs that they proposed need some refinements. We also went over door selection, the electrical layout and plan, and a few other odds and ends.

On Wednesday, we met with our contact at La Nova to make final selections for our master bathroom shower tile. Erick has been great to work with and he has really been a big help to us. We are going with a large white tile, but we are working with our architect to choose the exact dimensions.

Details: As I mentioned last week, we are under contract with Cliffwood. We are still in the option period and the potential buyer had a traditional and plumbing inspection done this week. More on that later.

Purchases: With a Y Lighting sale underway, we were able to purchase the lighting for our breakfast room and an overhead light for our master suite.

Challenges: Timing is everything and it always seems like we need more time to get everything done.

Wins: The process is moving forward!
