Progress: Casa Contour is officially a construction zone. As in, hard hats and protective eye-wear required.
The crew spent the last week laying, setting and grouting the tile upstairs. We now have tile in the two upstairs bathrooms and in the laundry room. The tile has since been covered while the painters work in these same spaces.
The painters also painted the landing, including the bookcase and (top of the) fireplace.
The crew also put new drywall in all four upstairs bedrooms and the linen closet, and painted each room. This includes the closets and built in cabinetry.
While the crew’s focus had primarily been upstairs, they also patched the hole in the dining room ceiling and began the beam/ceiling work in the kitchen.
The idea is to take the beam in the kitchen and rework the header so that it is IN the ceiling and no longer protruding from the ceiling.
We also had our tree trimming folks out to remove two huge Tallow trees from the backyard, and to remove tree limb overhang from the front yard.
Finally, we had our weekly conference call with Kathy to make final tweaks to the architectural plans for the stairs, kitchen, entry way, front door, living room and master suite.
Details: We listed our beloved Cliffwood just after midnight on Friday, October 2nd. Within 24 hours, we had 6 showing set up and we ended up having 8 before the weekend was over. Please cross your fingers for us!
Challenges: From types of light switches to door knobs to interior and exterior lights, there are so many options to wade through and consider. We are trying to make choices so that our indecision doesn’t slow down the project.
Wins: We are still very much enjoying this process!
