After last year’s wonderful summer trip to Zihuatanejo, we were all set to return this year. When the Viceroy Zihuatanejo had a crazy sale on Cyber Monday 2014, we sealed the deal by booking this year’s stay. My parents decided to join us too. Then the Lears were in. And the Hunters. And the Falks. Before we knew it, we had 10 adults and 5 children in our party. The more the merrier, right?
We jetted off on the 4th of July and returned yesterday, on July 11th.
Some say it’s not a vacation if kids are involved, but I beg to differ. We love George, our family and friends and we all had a wonderful time together. Our trip was filled with laughs, great food, luxury accommodations, fantastic company and a beautiful setting. Sure, there were a few meltdowns and earlier than expected bedtime and nap times here and there, but it was nothing devastating or remotely annoying. Besides, what a great place to have a bit of mild adversity!
Also, while George may never remember this particular trip, we will never forget how much fun he had, the sight of him playing with his cousins and friends, or the sound of his laughter as he splashed in the pool and in the ocean. These memories are priceless and we are so glad to have them.
Once I get through my photos and fill in my daily summary notes, I will post a few entries on our trip. Hopefully it won’t take me too long to get everything posted.
I hope you had a nice 4th of July and that you are enjoying the summer!
