Thanksgiving 2014

Sorry for the delay in blogging, dear friends. Life has been beautifully hectic and full lately. Tis the season, right?

We spent the week of Thanksgiving in Austin, Texas, for work and for pleasure. We were fortunate to be able to combine work commitments with the desire to see and spend time with family. It was a busy, but wonderful time for us.

We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel in Austin and we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite during our time there. It was fabulous! It sure was great to have nice views of downtown Austin and to have lots of extra space to work in and to let George explore. My parent’s room was connected to the suite making for an even grander experience. We enjoyed having them nearby and they enjoyed being so close to George. My Mom would wake up every morning and scoop George up and take him back to her room for snuggling. So sweet!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Nelda and Zach’s with an exceptional spread. We feasted on a fried turkey, stuffed turkey breast, and 10 glorious side dishes. I know…gloriously gluttonous! We also had some delicious desserts to choose from, including chocolate pecan bourbon pie and apricot crumble.

It was also wonderful to see and spend time my twin niece and nephew – the two newest turkeys in our flock.

We also took family photos while we were in Austin, but you will have to wait a bit to see the end result. Here are a few behind-the-scenes pictures.

We are settling in to the holiday season over here and I hope to check back in soon with an update. In the meantime, please enjoy George modeling his first pair of Christmas jammies on Thanksgiving night. We love him so!
