Timeline: George turned 13 months old on Sunday. I hadn’t planned on continuing with these monthly updates, but since some of you have sent me texts asking for an update…how can I leave you hanging?
How We’re Feeling: We remain incredibly blessed — George, John and I are still very happy and healthy. We have had a very healthy past thirteen months. Amen!
How George is Changing: George weighed in at 19 pounds, 10 ounces and is 29.5 inches long at his 12 month appointment and he is longer and weighs more now. George is wearing 12-18 month size clothing, and his feet are getting big quickly. In fact, we are having a hard time keeping George in shoes that fit.
We are still breastfeeding, and are in deep into the weaning process. George still nurses 3 times a day and eats solid foods three times a day. His favorite new solid foods include egg (the whole egg), grapes, ground beef, and zucchini muffins. We have a very good eater on our hands!
In addition to “Mama,” “Dada,” “Bird,” “Duck,” and “No,” George also says “Bubbles,” “Bye-Bye,” and “Hi.” And those are just the words we can make out — George is very talkative these days.
Georgie is still crawling like a champ and is very, very, very speedy. He is also standing and pulling up and we expect to have a walker on our hands at any moment.
George has eight teeth and has two more teeth coming in. I’m hoping we can get through this teething pain quickly.
George is still sleeping 10 to 11.5 hours straight at night and 2 to 3 hours during the day in his crib. He occasionally wakes up in the middle of the night, but George is generally a great sleeper.
How I’m Changing (Body After Baby): I am down 80 pounds and feeling great. That’s right — I have lost all the baby weight + 11 pounds.
How I’m Staying Active: Running, walking, Pilates and light strength training are my exercise of choice these days. My FitBit is part of the reason I am staying on track — I love it!
What’s Keeping Me Busy: In addition to being a Mom, I am still working full-time (from home) and am traveling more and more for work these days. I am blessed to be able to see George whenever I want when I work from home. I have also been more active socially and have been busy planning upcoming family trips. I also have a new niece and nephew and have been blessed to see them a few times over the past few weeks.
What’s New with George: Even though the temperature is dropping, George still loves our outdoor walks. Thank goodness — these walks are great for the both of us. We manage to get outside every single day — rain or shine! George is also still really enjoying his Little Gym classes.
What’s New at Cliffwood: We are still in the midst of a prolonged Winter/Summer cleaning and reorganization and our mini-remodel project is almost complete. I totally owe you a post on this.
The Nursery: No update here, but I can’t imagine we will have one until George moves into a toddler bed (wait…what?!).
