George – 10 Months

Timeline: As of Saturday, George is 10 months old. 10!

10 months

How We’re Feeling: We remain incredibly blessed — George, John and I are still very happy and healthy.

How George is Changing: George weighed 17 pounds, 10 ounces and was 28.25 inches long at his 9 month check-up.  I don’t have new stats for you this month, but this kid is heavier and longer than last month. He is growing like a weed!

We are still breastfeeding and fortunately everything is still going really well. George still nurses 5 or 6 times a day and eats solid foods three times a day. George is eating even more solid foods. His favorites include chicken, turkey, cheese, blueberries, strawberries, yogurt, cantaloupe, Cheerios and Baby Mum Mums. We also serve George pureed greens every day in order get in some good veggies. George is also getting better at using his sippy cup and he really likes drinking water.

In addition to “Mama” and “Dada,”…we think George is saying “bird.”  We have giant glass windows and doors and lots of birds in the yard, so this might actually be true!

Georgie is crawling like a champ and has gotten to be quite speedy. He is also standing and pulling up and we expect to have a walker on our hands very soon. George has come very close to walking in the past few days – I’m so excited and scared!

George is still sleeping really well (amen!) and typically sleeps for 9 to 11 hours at night (without waking to feed/change). However, up until this month, George has only been willing to sleep with us in bed or on a Woomby.  More details on this to come — we are working on this situation now.

George still has four teeth (Ha!), with no immediate signs of teething or additional teeth.

How I’m Changing (Body After Baby): I will do a comprehensive update in a few days (Didn’t I promise I would do this already?), but I am down 70 pounds and feeling great.  That’s right — I have lost all the baby weight + 3 pounds.

How I’m Staying Active: Running, walking and light strength training are my exercise of choice these days. I’m loving it!

What’s Keeping Me Busy: In addition to being a Mom, I am still working full-time (from home) and am traveling more and more for work these days. I am blessed to be able to see George whenever I want when I work from home.  It is so cute to see him crawl by office when I am on a conference call.

What’s New with George: George is wearing 12 month and 9-12 month size clothing. George is quite the character and loves to laugh.  George also loves books – I’m thrilled! George loves having books read to him and really likes to turn the pages.

What’s New at Cliffwood: We are still in the midst of a prolonged Winter/Summer cleaning and reorganization now. We are still sprucing up a few things around the house and have some new pieces of furniture and decorative items, as well as some new outdoor landscaping. When things slow down, I will provide an update on our domestic changes/renovations.

The Nursery: Finally! If you didn’t see my post, we finally got our act together in the nursery!
