John and I slept like babies on Sunday night and were stunned by the view from our room in the morning.
Stunning. We did workouts in the gym before heading to breakfast. As part of our room package, daily breakfast buffets were complimentary. And what a spread it was! In fact, with fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, breads, eggs, proteins, waffles, pancakes and an omelet station, the buffet was reminiscent of what we encountered in Hong Kong/Thailand earlier this year. To keep it healthy and light, I had an egg-white omelet with vegetables and fresh fruit.
We spent the rest of the day on the beach. It was glorious! Scott, a super friendly beach attendant, helped us get set-up and even brought me a pillow so that I could be extra comfortable. We had two chairs, a table, a breeze, an umbrella and breath-taking views.
Since the hotel offered beach-side dining, and because we are lazy, we ordered lunch to our chairs. We shared a dip trio (macadamia nut hummus, tomato and red pepper dip and Maui onion dip) and then I had a fruit plate with yogurt. John had an order of the pork sliders. Everything was excellent, including the service.
We spent the day reading, people watching, chatting and relaxing. In the afternoon, when my stomach began to rumble, we ordered another round of dip and chips. So good.
We ended up staying at the beach all day — from 9 to 4. Needless to say, we were toast for the rest of the day. TOAST. We ended up ordering room service for dinner. I went with pasta sautéed in olive oil, garlic and red pepper chile flakes.
Simple, yet delicious. At some point I passed out and ended up sleeping for 8 hours. I love vacation!
