Location — The hotel is located in the super high-end Rajadamari area in downtown Bangkok. The hotel is connected to the Sky Train and is a thirty minute or so train ride from the airport. However, I wouldn’t recommend trying to make the journey with large luggage — it will slow you down considerably as most stations do not seem to have working elevators. The hotel is next door to several hotels, including the Four Seasons, and there is a 7-11(!) just down the block for last-minute essentials.
Customer Service — Service was unbelievable. In addition to being greeted by multiple people every time we encountered hotel staff, we didn’t lift a finger while we were there. Someone is always there to help you with things you might not need help with – opening a door, pulling luggage, pushing a button, etc. Although they were a little slow with responsiveness, concierge staff was helpful in making dinner reservations and changes.
Accommodations — Even though the hotel was completely booked for the holidays, we still scored a great upgrade on the 14th floor. We had beautiful views of downtown and a spacious and open floor plan. The walls are also very thick — perfect for when your neighbors stay our late or wake up early. Surprisingly, we weren’t bothered on NYE or NY’s day by noise or general revelry.
Amenities — The hotel has three restaurants and we ate at two of them during our stay — Jojo and Vue. We had great breakfasts daily in Vue and a dinner and a lunch a Jojo. The food was incredible and the service was second to none. Notably, we enjoyed visiting with the GM of Jojo. He is from Italy and we enjoyed chatting with him about food, wine, travel and…life! Additionally, the Elemis Spa is beautiful and our treatments and spa experience were fantastic.
Membership Recognition — As Platinum members, we were treated to complimentary breakfasts, free internet access, afternoon happy hours and 24 hour butler service. With our butler service, we received complimentary tea and coffee service and complimentary pressing/laundry service. Yes, we wanted to move in permanently.
