Saturday morning was full of activities at Cliffwood. We spent our morning exercising, packing, breakfasting, working and tying up loose ends. Before we knew it, it was 8:30 am and we were en route to the airport. We met my Mom, Dad, Julie and Ian at Terminal E, checked in, grabbed some lunch (to-go) and boarded our flight to Zihuatanejo, Mexico. A mere 2 hours or so later, we were on the ground in paradise.
We arrived at the hotel (La Quinta Troppo) and found Nelda and Zach relaxing in the pool. After a few minutes, we found ourselves luxuriating with “welcome” margaritas and guacamole. Best. Welcome. Ever. After a quick session of unpacking and getting settled, we all met up at the pool for some afternoon relaxing.
When dinner time rolled around we made our way to La Casa Que Canta. Six years ago we held our wedding reception at the “El Murmullo” private residence at the hotel and spent part of our honeymoon there. On Saturday night, however, it was all about drinks and dinner.
Over the course of the evening, I had a mango margarita, tortilla soup, cochinita pibil and dessert duo of banana cheesecake and chocolate pot de cream. Everything was fantastic. We had a really nice evening and I was so happy to be surrounded by my family.
We absolutely love La Casa Que Canta and consider it to be one of our favorite, and most special, places. The decor, ambiance, service and views are truly outstanding.
At La Casa Que Canta, they treat everyone like family. Having dinner at the hotel was a great way to end our first day of vacation.
