Two Hats

Today I wore two hats — (1) Stay-At-Home worker; & (2) Water Heater Project Manager.  You see, our water heater went out yesterday and  a crew put in a new one today.  Unexpected repairs! — such is life when you are an owner of a mid-century modern home.  Ah well, I see lots of hot showers water in my future!

Since I worked at home all day, I got to eat homemade food all day.  I actually love this — being on the road often makes me dream of days like this. Here’s what I ate today:

Breakfast – Kale/Cucumber/Celery/Apple/Lemon Juice (from my juicer)

Lunch – Sandwich (GF bread+hummus+deli turkey+provolone cheese+cucumber) with cherries and blueberries

Snack: 2 low-fat cheese sticks and 1 apple sprinkled with cinnamon

Dinner: Leftover Slow Cooker Lentil and Sausage Soup

Snack: Clementines and Strawberries

You might think this isn’t a whole lot of food, but it was. I am working in several new years resolutions already, including eating more whole foods and drinking more water.  All told, I consumed 2.25 liters of water today, not including the water in my whole foods or in my evening peppermint hot tea.

Most importantly, I did not consume gluten today and I feel great.  My plan is to build on today with another…then another, etc. Per my doctors orders, it is time to go gluten-free for good.
