Road Trip to San Antonio

Early this morning, John and I packed and drove to San Antonio. I haven’t bored you with the details of my training blogged about running lately, but I am running the Rock and Roll Half Marathon tomorrow. I am very excited! We stopped by the expo on our way into town and quickly picked up my race packet, a few free swag items and ordered a few CutCo knives. Random, right?  I also ran into old high school friends at the expo.  Again, random, although very welcome — they are such a cute couple! After the expo, John and I were very interested in satisfying our mutual craving for delicious Mexican food. Naturally, we ended up at Rosario’s.  Do you remember? — We first went there (as a couple) this summer. We started with their infamous chips and salsa.

Amazing.  Truly. If you like salsa, Rosario’s salsa will make you very happy.  Theirs is smoky, yet spicy and full of fantastic flavor.  For my entrée, I ordered the enchiladas con queso.

These were also wonderful — even though my eyes were bigger than my stomach.  We are most certainly permanently adding Rosario’s to our San Antonio “favorites” list.  After lunch, we checked into the Westin Riverwalk.  To my surprise, we were treated like total VIPs at check-in.  We not only scored an upgrade to a corner suite, but also received a welcome gift from the hotel manager.

Perhaps this has something to do with my 60 nights of stays at Starwood properties this year? Yes, that number sort of disgusts me too.  Anyhow, the room is fantastic.

The bed was perfect for an afternoon of napping, internet surfing and football watching.  For dinner, John and I made our way to the P.F. Chang’s in the Quarry. I had my share of carbs my eating GF chicken fried rice and flourless chocolate cake.

Now…it’s time for bed.  I feel a bit strange right now — a mix of dizziness and nausea — but I am sure I am just tried from a week of travel.  Good Night!
