Palm Springs Getaway

Good Evening, Bloggies.  To celebrate a three-day weekend, John and I traveled to Palm Springs early this morning.  On the agenda – rest and relaxation.  A weekend of good food, deep sleep, pool time, massages, naps, TV, exploring mid-century modern architecture and shopping are what the doctor ordered for the Arnolds. We visited Palm Springs in 2004, loved our experience, and have been longing to get back ever since.  We are delighted to be staying at the Parker Palm Springs for the weekend.

This hotel is fabulous.  It’s mid-century modern without being “overdone” or trying too hard.  The grounds, complete with two restaurants, several outdoor lounge areas, 2 pools, a spa and 13 acres of space, are amazing.  We were upgraded to a junior suite upon arrival and I practically squealed with delight. I mean, who doesn’t love being treated like a VIP? Check out our digs for the weekend.

Spacious room, outdoor balcony, comfortable bed, two bath areas, nice toiletries and oh yes….the décor!

We. Love. And did I mention the staff? Everyone has been incredibly friendly, with a sincere and obvious commitment to customer service. After we checked in, we settled in at Norma’s (an onsite restaurant) for lunch.  I had a bunless burger and John had the fish tacos. Delicious. After a quick tour of the property and some work/email in the room, we both conked out for dual-Arnold naps. Priceless. After naps, I exercised while John snuggled up for college football.  When dinner rolled around, we decided to keep it casual and relaxed.  With a craving for Mexican food, YELP guided us to La Perlita, a local favorite.

Fortunately, it did not disappoint.  Our meals were fantastic. I had the verde enchiladas.

So let’s see….Great Hotel? Check. Nap? Check. Run? Check. Delicious Food? Check.  College Football on TV? It’s been a wonderful day! Good Night!
