Due to an unexpected flight delay, John and I arrived in Phoenix around 10pm on Thursday night (midnight our time!). We slept on Friday because we were exhausted! Once we got out of bed and got ready we headed out to Taliesin West — the school, residence and archives of Frank Lloyd Wright.
As you might have guessed given the design and decor of Cliffwood (our home), we love modern architecture.
Anyhow, we went on a 90 minute tour that included exploration of the grounds, private residence, offices, cabaret and theatre on the property.
Everything about the tour was brilliant. We had such a great time!
Well, everything except the 112 degree heat. It was HOT!! Afterwards, John, his parents and I had lunch at North in Scottsdale. Yes, it is the same restaurant and concept as the one in Austin. I had delicious gluten-free pasta. Yum. After afternoon naps and errands, it was time for dinner. John’s parents, John and I met up with John’s brother, Scott, his wife and their kids at Si Senor Restaurant for some New Mexican food. Delicious! I miss New Mexican food! Afterwards, it was over to John’s brother’s house for some playing and catching up. Good Times!
