We woke up and had breakfast at the hotel again this morning.
Like last time, everything was fresh and tasty. Once we packed, we left Positano for an early transfer to Capri.
The ride to Capri took about 30 minutes. Once we landed, we took a funicolare (cable car) to the center of town. Our hotel was a short 10 minute walk away. While we waited for our room to be prepared, we had lunch…and this view.
After settling in our room, we explored Capri by foot and did some shopping. We also went on a boat ride in search of the infamous Blue Grotto.
After about 20 minutes we arrived at the entrance of the Blue Grotto and transferred to guided row-boats. Per legend, you actually have to lay down in the boat in order to squeeze the boat through the entry way. Once you are in, the view is spectacular.
After the ride home, I baked myself on our balcony while John took a nap. We decided to go to dinner early (well…early for this vacation) and made it to Da Gemma just in time for sunset.
Beautiful, no? Capri is a very chic and busy island and it was nice to slloooww down and relax this evening at dinner. We shared a Diavolo pizza as an appetizer.
Yes, we are pigs! The food is so good that we can’t help ourselves! For my entrée I had the homemade spaghetti with fresh tomato sauce.
It was brilliant. On our walk back to the hotel we stopped at a bakery and bought this pastry.
I wanted it because it was in a horseshoe shape — Cute! Or..maybe I simply have had too much wine!? Anyhow, it was tasty! I am exhausted and am heading to bed soon. Days of climbing, walking and hiking have left me exhausted! Good Night!
