Friday was a great day. While our maid service cleaned Cliff wood, I went to the gym and ran a few errands. Needless to say, I was thrilled to come home to a wonderfully clean home. Hiring these ladies has been one of our best decisions ever! Later, I met Blanca and El Divo for lunch at Queen Vic.
Nestled off Richmond Drive, Queen Vic is a gastro pub that serves up some eclectic British, meets Mediterranean, cuisine. We shared a sampler platter of cheese, fruit, sausage, chips and crackers as an appetizer. It’s a good thing the food is good there, because service was attentive yet slow. Major pet peeve. For my entree, I ordered the veggie burger (no bun) with homemade chips (fries). The burger was delicious. While most veggie burgers I’ve had are pretty iffy with unrecognizable ingredients, this burger was homemade — a mix of chick peas, peas, brown rice and a few other vegetables. Mmmm. Post-lunch, I ran a few more errands, then worked the afternoon away. After a while, I took a nap and woke up with a raging fever. We went to Jenni’s Noodle House for dinner where I ordered the fabulous “Stir Me Crazy” noodles — chicken, gf noodles, snap peas,, and bamboo shoots and bean sprouts.
Apparently I added too much Srirachi sauce because my mouth was en fuego. And my temperature continued to rise. It got so bad…that I had to eat ice cream.
That seemed to help because I woke up with a normal temperature. If ice cream is a remedy, I am cool with that!
