Whole Foods – The Flagship

John and I are in Austin (for the 2nd time this week) for work and were excited to have dinner together. We both wanted different things, so we split the difference and went to Whole Foods. But it wasn’t just any Whole Foods, it was the Flagship store on 6th Street. Ahhh ahhhh ahhhhh. Do you hear the harps playing and the angels singing? 😉  That’s 80,000 square feet of healthy goodness.  I hit the hot bar and put together a box of saffron rice, cilantro rice, edamame, steamed kale, grapes, pineapple , green beans, quinoa salad and diced turkey.

I also had a small sample of black bean soup and a side of fruit.

I tied it all together with a “Pure Heart” Yerba Mate.

Delicious. Afterwards, we spent about 20 minutes shopping for gluten-free food.  I picked up pasta, baking mixes, crackers, Lara Bars, Kind Bars, teas and coconut water.  I am looking forward to trying out my new goodies. We also ran into several friends.  Good times.  Shopping has never been so fun!
